Nice and simple. Just the way I like it.

You may have seen this (or at least a version of this) before. I don’t care, it doesn’t make it any less relevant or important. Know it. LIVE IT.

Here is a basic this / not this on being a great leader. It is the difference between a “boss” (bad) and a leader (good)

A BOSS… A LEADER…

drives their employees coaches their team

relies on ‘authority’ relies on goodwill

inspires fear inspires enthusiasm

says “I”, “me”, “my” says “us”, “we”, “our”

takes the credit gives the credit

when things go badly, blames others blames themselves

finds problems finds solutions

says “GO!” says “let’s go!”

COMMANDS ASKS

Finally, the last, but also vital trick is to be CONSISTENT.

Think of good v bad employers, bosses, leaders, managers that you have had in your past. The difference between them is not what they did – they could be strict or loose; analytical or creative; it doesn’t matter – the ONE thing they did have was: CONSISTENCY.

Be consistent. Know what is important to you, share it and follow it. Do not be erratic; do not react differently to the same outcome without warning.

Done.
